My "Between Seasons" Mashup

Hi there!

This will be a really quick post! So it's already October 8 (Happy 88th birthday, Grandma!!), and it's STILL over 90 degrees outside! This makes it a little difficult to fully transition into seasonal wear for the Fall! Today, my outfit was basically a mash up of a dark, gray, perfect-for-Fall sweater thrown over a light, thin, it-still-feels-like-Summer maxi dress. I made it work by belting the sweater so it didn't hang too loosely over the dress. To tie it all together, I added a scarf that is the same shade of blue as the print on the bottom of my dress!

Sweater, Scarf, Belt, & Dress Wet Seal (2009-2011ish) // Shoes Target (Winter 2013, $3 Clearance)

The sweater has cool buttons in the back that make this top pretty unique! (Oh look, my tag was sticking out all day. . .cool.)

I painted a couple of my finger nails with a dark purple nail polish, and then I ran out of the polish in that bottle! Instead of wiping it off and starting fresh, I grabbed a different shade of dark purple and just continued painting the rest of my hand! I asked my husband if he could tell a difference between the two shades, and he says he can't! Mwhahahaha. I can honestly only tell a difference between the shades of purple in direct sunlight. I am glad I was able to use up as much as I could of the original bottle! I just won't let anybody look too closely at my hands outside. ;)

Work | Date Night

Hi there!

This morning I was soooo groggy. I got out of bed, and thought about how I couldn't wait to go back to bed at the end of the day. It was one of those Mondays, you know? Since I wasn't feeling awake or cheery, I decided to wear some colors to work that are bright and cheery!

Top Forever 21 // Cami & Cardigan Wet Seal (2009-ish?) // Skirt H&M (Spring 2012) // Boots Charlotte Russe (Summer 2013, $6.99 Clearance) // Earrings Charlotte Russe Summer 2013, $1.99 in pack of 3 Clearance)

After work, Michael and I went to Carlos O'Briens for our Date Night (all the salsa mmmmmm)! The top was casual enough that I just had to throw on some jeans, change my shoes, and I was ready to go!

Top Forever 21 // Cami & Cardigan Wet Seal (2009-ish?) //Jeans Macy's: Silver Jeans Co. (Spring 2012) // Shoes The Cinnamon Stick: Toms (Summer 2012, Clearance) // Earrings Charlotte Russe (Summer 2013, $1.99 in pack of 3 Clearance) // Necklace Charlotte Russe (Summer 2013)

I found a quote by Miranda Kerr today that I just love! "A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose. All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that's like women too." I just love this! You are beautiful! What is one of your favorite quotes?

Robin Hood

Hi there!

Today, what I was wearing made me feel a little bit like Robin Hood. Or a mystical wood nymph. I realize that my outfit doesn't really represent either, but that's how I felt.

It is what it is.

Top Goodwill: Fun and Flirty ($9.99) // Jeans Kohls: SO (Summer 2013, $8 50% off and coupon) // Boots Wet Seal (2009-ish?) // Necklace and Bracelet Gifts

I bought this top from Goodwill last weekend for $9.99! I love this shade of green. It's perfect for Fall! It's long enough to be worn with either skinny jeans or leggings (of if you're really brave, I guess you could wear it as a dress!) The sleeves are really fun too!

The leather cuff was a gift from one of my college roommates. Her sister made it herself! It is engraved with a beautiful floral design.

This afternoon, my family went to True Food Kitchen to celebrate my sister's birthday! I had their delicious spaghetti squash casserole. So yummy! Afterwards, we came back to my place for cupcakes! :)

I can't believe it's already Sunday evening. Where did the weekend go?!

Thank you for reading!! How was your weekend? Did you find any great deals?! :)

Fall Weekend Wear

Hi there!

Friday

I had to take yesterday's outfit pictures on my phone. Sorry the quality isn't quite as good!

Top Goodwill: H&M // Cami Wet Seal // Jeans Kohls: SO (Summer 2013, $8 50% off and coupon) // Shoes DSW: Tahari (Winter 2013) // Necklace Charlotte Russe (Summer 2013) // Ring I don't remember! :(

I bought the H&M top from Goodwill! It's the perfect deep color for Fall. The top was also nice enough to wear to work, but casual enough to go to dinner with some friends afterwards!

Saturday

Today, I wore a shirt and a necklace that are both from Forever 21. Both of them are a few years old--I'm fairly certain that I bought them both when I was in high school!

Shirt and necklace Forever 21 // Cardigan Wet Seal (2009-ish?) // Jeans American Eagle // Red Moccasins DSW: Minnetonka ($7.96, Clearance + 2 Member "Rewards" Coupons)

I really like how the beaded turquoise necklace pops against the other colors of this outfit! The red, orange, mustard yellow, and turquoise complement each other well and are such beautiful, traditional colors for Fall.

These Minnetonka moccasins feel like slippers!

Could I BE Wearing Anymore Blues?!

Hi there!

It's October 3rd, and you know what that means. . .it's Mean Girls Day! ;)

After I got dressed this morning, I realized I basically copied exactly what I did yesterday--I took a summery tank top, and threw a short-sleeved cardigan over it. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! The difference between today and yesterday though, is the colors! Today I mixed and matched a few different, but similar, shades of blues. I was so happy with how well the shades of blue in my necklace and cardigan complemented each other. They both just popped against the bright blue top so well!

Cardigan Goodwill: Kersh (Half Off Day!) // Top Nordstrom Rack (Summer 2011) // Necklace Etsy: JGirlJewels (Winter 2013, $17) // Jeans American Eagle // Flats Target (Winter 2013, $3 Clearance) // Bracelets Charlotte Russe (Fall 2013, $3 "Happy Hour" BOGO 1/2 entire store)

I also really like that I got this cardigan from Goodwill on "Half Off Day". Wheeeee! :)

I tried wearing the bracelet stack to work again, and found that by switching them to the left wrist, they weren't nearly as noisy when I typed at my desk. :)

Now I'm off to go watch SNL's season premiere, hosted by Tina Fey! What better way to celebrate Mean Girls Day?? ;)

Pops of Pink

Hi there!

I just finished baking some of Pinch of Yum's Healthy Maple Glazed Pumpkin Muffins. Pumpkin and maple? These were calling my name, and they turned out so good. I ate one when it was still warm from the oven. . .delicious! :)

It's not frosting on top, it's "maple glaze". (Don't ask me what the difference is.)

Funnily enough, as I sat down to write this post, I realized that half of my outfit was actually gifted to me--you can't get a better deal than that! ;)

Top Wet Seal (gift) // Cami Charlotte Russe // Cardigan H&M (Spring 2012) // Jeans Macy's: Silver Jeans Company (Spring 2013) // Shoes The Cinnamon Stick: Tom's (Summer 2012, clearance) // Necklace Charming Charlie (Summer 2013, gift--$13.00 with matching earrings)

The necklace is from my sister Amy, and it came with a pair of matching earrings! (Thanks, Amy!)

The top is from my best friend, Shannon. Every time she wore it, I'd threaten to steal it from here because I loved it. I really liked the lace that starts in the shoulder straps and continues down the back of the shirt. When she was packing up all of her stuff to move to Thailand, she let me keep it! (You can read more about her adventure on her blog here!)

To keep my top appropriate for the office, I covered up with my short-sleeved cardigan. This is an easy way to wear any summer tank top to work!

Happy October 1st! :)

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi there!

Happy 1st day of October! :D I think tomorrow night I'll bake some maple-glazed pumpkin muffins to celebrate this beautiful month! For now. . .let's talk outfits!

I feel extra busy this week, and this is going to be another 2-outfits-in-1 post.

Monday night is our designated "Date Night", so after work, Michael and I went to Z'Tejas for dinner (mmmmmmmmm!). Then after that, I went to see my sister because yesterday was her 21st birthday! Whooooo!! (I feel old.)

Needless to say, I was pretty tired when I got home! I took a couple of pictures of my outfit and went straight to bed!

Shirt Georgiou (Summer 2013, BOGO 1/2 off) // Cami Wet Seal // Cardigan American Eagle (Borrowed) // Jeans American Eagle // Boots Wet Seal (2009-ish?) // Bracelet Stack Charlotte Russe (Fall 2013, $3 during "Happy Hour")

Once again, employees at my office were offered the opportunity to wear jeans all week if they donated $5 towards a charity! This week, it was to a Breast Cancer Foundation. It's so cool organizations can raise money this way!

I got all of these bracelets for a total of $3 from Charlotte Russe during their "Happy Hour"--when the entire store is BOGO 1/2 off! I've never been one to wear bracelets, but I love seeing images girls post of their "arm parties" on Pinterest, and I wanted to give it a try! The verdict? I barely even noticed I was wearing them. . .except when I was typing on my computer at work! Then I felt like they were banging everywhere and I was annoying my coworkers. Besides that though, I think they're great! I might just have to reserve them for weekends. ;)

Today I wore. . .all black! Black skinny jeans with a black top. The top has some sheer material at the top--this was a big trend last fall. I haven't been seeing it quite as much this season, but hey, I like it. ;) I also wore a pearl strand necklace, which made my outfit look "classic". (When I was wearing my big black sunglasses while driving around this morning, this look was extra dramatic!)

Top H&M (Fall 2012) // Necklace Charlotte Russe (Spring 2013) // Jeans Kohl's: SO (Summer 2013, $8--50% off plus coupon) // Shoes Target (Winter 2013, $3 Clearance)

I tried completing the look with my new leopard print platform heels that I bought from Charlotte Russe last weekend, but I'm not brave enough to wear them to work yet! How do you think they look with this outfit?

Now it's off to bed so I have enough energy to go for a run tomorrow morning before work!

Thank you for reading!! :)
