Fall Favorites

Hi there! I thought I'd quickly mention a few of my favorite things this Fall. . . :)

This candle is one of Michael's favorite things right now too! LOL When we light it, the entire house smells like fresh baked brownies. Mmmmmmm :)

I haven't owned any black denim for a couple of years, and wanted to get some this Fall to add some variety to my closet. I went into American Eagle yesterday, and they were having a BOGO 50% off sale, so I bought this pair. I am wearing them right now. :) They are super comfortable -- very important since I spend so much of my time on the floor with Lincoln haha

When we packed up to move, I found a shoe box that fit all of my bottles of nail polish perfectly. I was pretty pleased with myself for how they fit so well in this box. Well, the box never made it onto the moving truck. I'm hoping it at least made its way into the donation pile and not the trash? :/ Anyways, I have to start my nail polish collection from scratch. I bought a bottle from Essie's Fall line called "Knee High Life" (It's 90s inspired). It's a fun berry color! It's also the only bottle of polish I have right now so I've been wearing this color for a few weeks now. :)

What are some of your seasonal favorites that I need to know about?? Thank you so much for reading! xo

Florals for Fall

I used to hate floral prints when I was younger. I thought it was a print only grandmother's wore LOL now I love floral prints! (Well, Michael DOES tell me I have the same style as a grandma. . .) We all know Miranda Priestley (sarcastically) called floral prints "groundbreaking" for Spring, but I love it in all 4 seasons! I think the navy blue background of this dress makes the pattern appropriate for Fall. I paired it with a tan sweater and cognac booties.

Today after we got home from church, I read for a little bit and then took a nap. I ran to the mall to get a couple of things, went grocery shopping, and picked up some dinner (Zoe's Kitchen for Lincoln and me, and Panda Express for Michael). Sundays are the best! haha I hope you got to relax and recharge as well! Thank you so much for reading! xo

Plaid Top + Sweater Vest for a Fall Festival

Michael was making me laugh!

Are you sick of this sweater vest yet? :P I've been wearing it with everything! Today I layered it with this red and blue plaid top. I wore this to the city's annual fall festival. We were able to walk there from the house, and the weather was sooo perfect! This is our first fall living in GA, and it's been funny to listen to locals complain about the weather being warm for October. . .it's a lot cooler than what Michael and I are used to in Phoenix this time of year! I don't make any comment, but just keep quiet and enjoy (what I consider to be) the cool weather and changing leaves. :)

After the carnival, we came home and worked on a puzzle while Lincoln took a nap. The 3 of us watched the Smurf's movie on Netflix, and then we went to the park. This was a perfect day in my book! :) I hope you're having a wonderful weekend as well. Thank you so much for reading! xo

Instagram Roundup: 10/18/17

I'm just doing a quick roundup of my recent Instagram posts. Can you tell I gravitate towards 2 certain pairs of boots when the weather starts to cool down?? :) Tonight we went to the mall to walk around after eating dinner in the food court. We let Lincoln out of his stroller to walk around a little bit too, and he walked into e v e r y store we tried to pass by haha he is so curious about everything!! After we came home and Lincoln went to bed, I watched This is Us (my fave!) and Michael and I worked on a puzzle we bought yesterday from WalMart. :)

We're halfway through the week! Thank you so much for reading! xo

Fall 2017 Trend: Red

I love wearing red. I wore red shoes to my Homecoming Dance in high school. The dress I wore for my engagement photos was red. Red is vibrant, bold, energetic. . . and I personally love how it looks with gold accessories. So luxurious! And a red lipstick? BAM - instant glamour! Needless to say, I am excited to see red as a major color this fall! Dresses, tops, bags, boots. . . .all I see is red. :)

Tonight we went out shopping for a Halloween costume for Lincoln, and we were very disappointed by the selection (or lack thereof). Maybe Halloween isn't a big deal out here?? We've never been big on celebrating this particular holiday, but I was excited at the idea of getting a costume for Lincoln. It's only 2 weeks away, and Goodwill didn't have a single Halloween item in the entire store. . . .it was strange! We weren't impressed by the selection at Walmart either, but we did buy 2 puzzles. :) After Lincoln went to bed, Michael and I put together the border for one of them! haha I forget how fun puzzles are.

Thank you so much for reading! xo

Light Pink Vest

I bought this pink vest from Top Shop at Nordstrom 2 years ago, but I've only worn it once because I felt like I didn't really know how to style it. When I got pregnant, I thought it would be cute to wear but didn't have a maternity top that looked quite right. I bought this white tank top over the summer, and it's perfect with the vest! I wore this yesterday for church followed by some errands, including taking Lincoln to the park. I felt a little overdressed on the playground, but oh well haha.

I also went grocery shopping yesterday, and last night I made these Mexican Sweet Potato Skins for dinner with enough leftover to eat for lunch throughout the week. I broke all of the skins, so am actually just eating the "filling" haha but it's sooooo good. I put extra adobo peppers in there to give it an extra kick. :)

I hope you have a great week, and thank you so much for reading! xo

Peplum Top and Sweater Vest for the Apple Festival

Yesterday we went to the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay! This was our first year going, and we didn't know how huge it was! We sat in a line to park our cars for what felt like forever. It was worth it though! The festival had every kind of apple dessert I could think of -- except we never did find just some classic apple pie?! There were also all kinds of crafts booths with really unique items. Next year I want to go back and buy some crafts for our home. There was also a tent serving homemade root beer that was so delish, and last night Michael was researching how we can begin brewing root beer ourselves haha.

I hope you're having a great weekend, and thank you so much for reading!

Pink Kimono in the Fall

This picture is a little blurry, but I love it! Jelly wanted to get in on the action!

It's no secret that pink is my favorite color, and I wear it year-round. :) I didn't buy many maternity clothes when I was pregnant (they are SO expensive!), but I did buy this kimono from Pink Blush Boutique because I knew I could keep wearing it after Lincoln was born! The vibrant colors are so beautiful, and it is so light and easy to wear.

I am so excited it's the weekend! I hope you enjoy your weekend, and thank you so much for reading! xo

Gray and Tan

I finally get on board with the floppy hat trend, and now what's trending are baker boy hats! Oh well haha I'm sure I'll get a baker boy hat once those go out of style too :P I don't normally pair neutrals together like this, but I like how the gray ended up looking against the shades of tan. Michael isn't so sure about it though. . . :)

Olive Top & A New Candle

It's that time of year where we're deep enough into Fall that I'm craving to wear my boots, but it's still warm enough outside that short sleeves are perfectly appropriate. :P I got this olive top from H&M a few years ago, and I love that the color is perfect for Fall, but the fabric is light enough that it feels like a t-shirt. I also really like the black siding - it gives this top a little something extra!

Last week we were at the mall, and we walked past Bath & Body Works, and they always have a display right out in front of their store. A "Hot Cocoa & Cream" candle caught Michael's eye (he loves hot coca), and he said we have to get it! I told him no, I never buy full-priced candles from Bath & Body Works. haha I told him to trust me, it will be on sale soon enough. What do you know, I got an email yesterday saying for one day only, all of the new "Winter" candles (including the hot cocoa one) were on sale from $24.5 to $11.95. Last night after dinner, we hopped in the car and went to the mall specifically to buy one hot coca candle.

Quick Reviews of Sample Makeup I've Been Wearing Lately

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Confession: I am a bit of a makeup hoarder. (Raise your hand if you're guilty of ignoring expiration dates for makeup.)

I don't go out and buy makeup very often, but I am a sucker when Sephora sends me an emailing saying if I make a purchase, I'll get a goodie bag with "x" amount of samples in it. I was also subscribed to their monthly box for about 6 months, and was receiving a box with 5 deluxe samples from them every month!

When we were packing up our house to move from AZ to GA, I realized how many makeup samples I have. I told myself I am going to use up what I have  before I buy anything new (except nail polish -- I packed up a shoe box of nail polish and was so proud of myself for how perfectly they all fit in the box. . .and then the box never made it onto the moving truck. Wahhhh.)

When I was getting ready yesterday, I took a few pictures of makeup products I'm currently using. I don't necessarily love these products, but they've been apart of my daily routine recently as I try to use them up and make room for some new stuff.

First up is the Tarte Frxxtion Stick Exfoliating Cleanser. It's meant to be a cleanser, exfoliator and face mask all-in-one. I've been using it as an exfoliator every other day. It's kind of fun to "draw" the stick all over my face haha. After I rinse it off my face, my skin feels "tighter", if that makes sense? I don't tell a huge difference in my skin's appearance though, to be honest.

I have two small bottles of Clinique Even Better Foundation. I like that this foundation has SPF in it. :) The color I have is one or two shades two dark for me, but I've been using it anyway and blend, blend, blend. I was surprised at how good the coverage is - a little bit goes a long way. The product description says it's oil-free, but I feel like my face looks a little oily when I am wearing it and I prefer something more matte.

After applying foundation, blush, etc., I've been spraying on Tarte's Marine Boosting Mist. This is another all-in-one product, and is meant to be a primer, setting spray, hydrating mist AND skin refresher. I don't know if using this mist truly "sets in" my makeup, but I LOVE the scent. It smells like oranges. :) It also feels very refreshing to spray it onto my skin! I probably won't buy myself a bottle after this runs out, but if I do, it's because I love the scent so much. ;)

I've been switching between two different mascaras by Bobbi Brown and Sephora. I prefer the Bobbi Brown mascara (not a big surprise, since it is much more expensive), but I feel like the Sephora mascara does a good job of lengthening my eyelashes too.

My MAC Eyeliner is the only product in today's post that isn't a sample and I bought for myself. I feel like this is a very unpopular opinion, but I don't like it much at all. When I apply it to my eyes, it feels so creamy and smooth. However, I after only an hour or two I feel like I have total raccoon eyes because it has smudged so much. I've been really disappointed.

More Clinique! This Almost Lipstick in the shade Black Honey is my favorite product I've been wearing lately. When I first opened the tube, I was afraid it was going to be very dark. It's not dark at all! It's very sheer, but it's layerable so you can make it as dark as you want it to be. I feel like it feels very soft and creamy, almost like a chap stick, and this particular shade brings out the natural color of my lips.

Last night I hung out with some friends to eat pizza and play Phrase Frenzy. I was super comfortable in this outfit that feels like pajamas! :) When I first ordered this top, I was a little skeptical that it is "one size fits all". However, I've worn it before, during, and after being pregnant. It's like a great friend who's been there for me in all stages of my life LOL. I realize you can't see my makeup at all in this photo, but I'm wearing all of the products I reviewed above.

If you read this entire thing, you are a CHAMP! Have a great day! :)
