Quick Reviews of Sample Makeup I've Been Wearing Lately

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Confession: I am a bit of a makeup hoarder. (Raise your hand if you're guilty of ignoring expiration dates for makeup.)

I don't go out and buy makeup very often, but I am a sucker when Sephora sends me an emailing saying if I make a purchase, I'll get a goodie bag with "x" amount of samples in it. I was also subscribed to their monthly box for about 6 months, and was receiving a box with 5 deluxe samples from them every month!

When we were packing up our house to move from AZ to GA, I realized how many makeup samples I have. I told myself I am going to use up what I have  before I buy anything new (except nail polish -- I packed up a shoe box of nail polish and was so proud of myself for how perfectly they all fit in the box. . .and then the box never made it onto the moving truck. Wahhhh.)

When I was getting ready yesterday, I took a few pictures of makeup products I'm currently using. I don't necessarily love these products, but they've been apart of my daily routine recently as I try to use them up and make room for some new stuff.

First up is the Tarte Frxxtion Stick Exfoliating Cleanser. It's meant to be a cleanser, exfoliator and face mask all-in-one. I've been using it as an exfoliator every other day. It's kind of fun to "draw" the stick all over my face haha. After I rinse it off my face, my skin feels "tighter", if that makes sense? I don't tell a huge difference in my skin's appearance though, to be honest.

I have two small bottles of Clinique Even Better Foundation. I like that this foundation has SPF in it. :) The color I have is one or two shades two dark for me, but I've been using it anyway and blend, blend, blend. I was surprised at how good the coverage is - a little bit goes a long way. The product description says it's oil-free, but I feel like my face looks a little oily when I am wearing it and I prefer something more matte.

After applying foundation, blush, etc., I've been spraying on Tarte's Marine Boosting Mist. This is another all-in-one product, and is meant to be a primer, setting spray, hydrating mist AND skin refresher. I don't know if using this mist truly "sets in" my makeup, but I LOVE the scent. It smells like oranges. :) It also feels very refreshing to spray it onto my skin! I probably won't buy myself a bottle after this runs out, but if I do, it's because I love the scent so much. ;)

I've been switching between two different mascaras by Bobbi Brown and Sephora. I prefer the Bobbi Brown mascara (not a big surprise, since it is much more expensive), but I feel like the Sephora mascara does a good job of lengthening my eyelashes too.

My MAC Eyeliner is the only product in today's post that isn't a sample and I bought for myself. I feel like this is a very unpopular opinion, but I don't like it much at all. When I apply it to my eyes, it feels so creamy and smooth. However, I after only an hour or two I feel like I have total raccoon eyes because it has smudged so much. I've been really disappointed.

More Clinique! This Almost Lipstick in the shade Black Honey is my favorite product I've been wearing lately. When I first opened the tube, I was afraid it was going to be very dark. It's not dark at all! It's very sheer, but it's layerable so you can make it as dark as you want it to be. I feel like it feels very soft and creamy, almost like a chap stick, and this particular shade brings out the natural color of my lips.

Last night I hung out with some friends to eat pizza and play Phrase Frenzy. I was super comfortable in this outfit that feels like pajamas! :) When I first ordered this top, I was a little skeptical that it is "one size fits all". However, I've worn it before, during, and after being pregnant. It's like a great friend who's been there for me in all stages of my life LOL. I realize you can't see my makeup at all in this photo, but I'm wearing all of the products I reviewed above.

If you read this entire thing, you are a CHAMP! Have a great day! :)
